Blessing Bags

When children are removed from their homes due to child abuse or neglect, they often leave with very few clothes or possessions; and these items may be in a trash bag or plastic sacks.

Through the creativity and support of the Legacy Family Network and their volunteers, Family for Life is overjoyed to offer Blessing Bags to every child immediately upon placement in one of our foster homes. These colorful and roomy backpacks will be presented to each child, who will then handpick from a small variety of basic clothing items, toiletries, hair accessories, blankets, stuffed animals, books, and craft items. Bags will also include diapers and wipes, when age appropriate.

While finding themselves with new people in a new place, receiving a bag with items inside to call their own provides joy and security – truly a blessing.
