family support

We believe support is key. Family for Life foster parents are saying “yes” to hard things on a daily basis, and it is our privilege to come alongside them on their journey. To support our families, we as an agency:

- offer 24/7 crisis management for open foster homes

- provide case management and connection to resources

- attend court hearings with foster parents

- conduct additional trainings answering day-to-day fostering questions

- advocate for foster parent rights

Family support

At Family for Life, we recognize the value of developing a supportive community of like-minded individuals. Regular moms’ and dads’ nights include foster and adoptive parents gathering to play games, try new activities, or simply enjoy each other’s company. These evenings are filled with laughter and story-telling as relationships are built and individuals become “friends for life.” Monthly gatherings at a local coffee shop provide further occasion for connection, and our biannual retreats give foster and adoptive parents an opportunity to take a break from the responsibilities of life and enjoy time together in a relaxing environment.

When individuals step into the calling of foster care, they quickly learn the importance of having friends who “get it.” We strive to provide an intentional community for families during their foster care journey.

Post-Adoption Support

Though the main goal of foster care is reunification, we celebrate with families who provide children a forever home when one is needed. While some families no longer choose to foster following adoption of a child, we recognize the child’s trauma and parents’ need for support do not end after adoption paperwork is signed. We offer post-adoption support and encourage adoptive families to attend Family for Life events, receive ongoing trainings, and connect with others in the same season of life.

Community Support

Legacy Family Network is a non-profit organization that provides a supportive community for foster and adoptive families. They offer monthly family support nights virtually and in multiple locations around the Tulsa area. Dinner and childcare are provided, and families who attend receive beneficial training content during the evening. Legacy also hosts Bible studies, seasonal events, and “Free! Family! Fun!” days designed to give parents opportunities to make positive memories with their children while building relationships with other foster and adoptive families.
