Taylor’s passion for foster families and the children in DHS custody developed when she was a teen and her family began fostering children of various ages and circumstances. Over the years, God used the children in her home to reveal new meanings for sacrifice, love, and family. Taylor vividly recalls her heart opening to these children the day a 5-year-old foster sister confined to a wheelchair sang along to the radio, “Lead me with strong hands. Stand up when I can’t. Don’t leave me hungry for love.”

With eyes open to a reality that cannot be unseen, Taylor changed her college major and graduated from Harding University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, followed by a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Oklahoma. Taylor completed practicums with the Department of Human Services (DHS) in Arkansas and Oklahoma and gained experience as a Permanency Planning worker with OKDHS upon completion of her master’s. Though she has a unique love for the birth families and enjoys working with the court system, Taylor’s heart has always been with the foster families who vulnerably open their lives to even more vulnerable children.
